여름 강좌: 컴퓨팅의 수학적 기초

컴퓨팅 성능의 이론적 한계는 무엇입니까? 컴퓨터로 어떤 문제를 해결할 수 있나요? 어느 것이 할 수 없습니까? 그리고 어떻게 수학적 확실성을 가지고 이러한 질문에 대한 답을 추론할 수 있습니까? 이 과정은 이러한 질문에 대한 답을 탐구하고 이산 수학, 계산 가능성 이론 및 복잡성 이론에 대한 소개 역할을 합니다. 이 과정을 마치면 학생들은 수학적 증명 작성, 이산 구조에 대한 추론, 1차 논리문 읽기 및 쓰기, 컴퓨팅 장치의 수학적 모델 작업에 편안함을 느낄 것입니다.

이 과정을 통해 학생들은 19세기 후반과 20세기의 가장 흥미로운 수학적, 철학적 아이디어에 노출될 것입니다. 다루는 특정 주제에는 형식적 수학적 교정, 명제 및 1차 논리, 집합 이론, 이항 관계, 함수(주사, 전사 및 전단사), 카디널리티, 기본 그래프 이론, 비둘기집 원리, 수학적 귀납법, 유한 오토마타, 정규 표현, Myhill-Nerode 정리, 문맥 자유 문법, Turing 기계, 결정 가능하고 인식 가능한 언어, 자기 참조 및 결정 불가능성, 검증자, P 대 NP 질문.

상당한 교정 경험이 있는 학생들은 대신 CS154를 수강하는 것이 좋습니다. 추가 연습과 과정 지원에 관심이 있는 학생들은 CS103A에 동시에 등록하는 것이 좋습니다. 전제 조건: CS106B 또는 이에 상응하는 것. CS106B는 CS103과 동시에 수강할 수 있습니다.
